Portville Knocks Off Falconer; Jamestown Wins Again

FALCONER — Portville (3-0, 3-0) was a 25-5, 25-10, 25-9 winner over Falconer (3-2, 2-2).

Leading the way for the Panthers was Laura Wilhelm with 12 kills and three aces. Kylie Blessing had 30 assists, three kills and three aces; Tori Unverdorben seven kills and seven digs; Olivia Cook six kills and five aces; and Olivia Emily 11 digs and five aces.

Leading the Golden Falcons was Rachael Harper with seven digs and a kill. Emily Melquist added two kills and one block; and Ava Fenton added five digs.

Portville claimed the jayvee game.

FREDONIA UPENDS TROJANS

FREDONIA — Fredonia (2-2, 2-2) topped Southwestern (0-4, 0-4), 25-14, 25-19, 26-24 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division volleyball on Wednesday.

Leading the way for the Hillbillies was Anna Valone with five aces, 13 kills and 14 digs; Rhayna Myers added three aces, eight kills and six digs; Maddy Marsh had 28 digs; and Tess Corelle chipped in 27 assists.

The Trojans had Lauren Cotter with two aces; seven kills, three blocks and eight digs; Megan Cotter added two kills, 11 assists, four blocks and one dig; while Katie Lowe chipped in two kills, four blocks and three digs.

Fredonia won the jayvee contest.

JAMESTOWN MOVES TO 3-1

The Jamestown Red Raiders moved to 3-1 on the year and 3-1 in league play with a 19-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-11 win over visiting Allegany-Limestone (1-3, 1-3).

Kylie O’Brien led the winners with 13 kills, seven blocks and six aces; Claire Pumford had four kills, four digs and four aces; while Hannah Gray chipped in 20 assists, five digs and three aces.

Violet Nolder had five kills and five blocks, while Jenna Louser added two kills and six blocks for the Gators.

Allegany-Limestone claimed the jayvee contest.

EAST DIVISION

RANDOLPH TOPS PINE VALLEY

RANDOLPH — Randolph moved to 2-1 on the year and 2-1 in CCAA East Division play with a 25-5, 25-13, 25-13 win over Pine Valley (2-1, 2-1).

Ella Conley collected 12 assists in the win; Sydney Hvizdzak had eight kills and two aces; Alyssa Adams six kills, three aces and one block; and Eve Adams had three kills and 10 aces.

The Cardinals also prevailed in the jayvee game.

WARRIORS FALL TO NORTH COLLINS

NORTH COLLINS — North Collins (2-0, 2-0) was a 25-11, 27-25, 25-11 winner over Salamanca (2-2, 2-2).

For the Warriors Morgan Maybee had six aces and three kills; Makayla Burchhad one ace, one kill and five assists; and Jillian Rea had one ace, three kills and two assists.

TUESDAY

CLYMER/SHERMAN EARNS FIRST WIN

Clymer-Sherman (1-1, 1-1) defeated Cassadaga Valley (1-2, 1-2) in straight sets, 25-14, 25-18, and 25-22.

Clymer-Sherman was led by Hayden Fisher and Amaya Lewczyk with five aces and three kills apiece. Abby White had seven assists and two kills; Mikala Einink contributed four kills; and Emma Wiggers three aces.

Cassadaga Valley was led by Brielle LeBaron with five kills, three digs and one ace; Abbey Dubois had 14 assists; and Grace Warsitz had four kills and three aces.

DRAGONS PREVAIL

SILVER CREEK — Maple Grove moved to 2-1 on the year with a straight-sets win over host Silver Creek (0-2).

The Red Dragons were 25-8, 25-14, 25-21 winners behind a big performance by Erin Mansfield that included 17 assists, 11 service aces and five kills.

Samantha Snow added eight kills and nine digs,while Eliza Dawes had five kills.

Maple Grove won the jayvee match, 2-0.
