Jamestown Loses In Return To Court

Clarence outscored Jamestown, 40-24, over the final three quarters to rally for a 46-39 Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 girls basketball victory Tuesday at McElrath Gymnasium.

The game was the Red Raider’s return to the court after being shut down due to COVID-19 protocols.

Marley Drake scored 7 of her team-high 14 points in the opening eight minutes as Jamestown took a 15-6 lead.

Josie Fleming hit a pair of 3-pointers and Ella Corry also connected from deep as the Red Devils took a brief lead in the second quarter, but the Red Raiders closed the period on a run to take a 23-19 lead into halftime.

After the break, Clarence outscored the hosts 27-16, including 16-7 in the fourth quarter.

Fleming led the Red Devils (5-2, 4-1) with 15 points and Corry added 11.

Kylie O’Brien and Saydee Johnson each had eight rebounds; Lauren Tracy had five assists and three steals; and Mickia Freeney had four steals for Jamestown.
