FREWSBURG — No. 4 Frewsburg/Southwestern turned three record-breaking swims into a 105-80 victory over No. 5 Hamburg in the Erie Bracket of the Section VI boys swimming championships Friday.

Moore finished second in the 200-meter individual medley with a record time of 2:19.82 and second in the 100-meter backstroke with a record time of 1:02.64 for the hosts, who advanced to take on No. 1 Orchard Park in next Tuesday’s semifinals.

Frewsburg/Southwestern’s 400-meter relay team of Moore, Zachary Gifford, Logan Hren and Brady Lindstrom also won with a record-setting time of 3:53.08.

Gifford was a double winner, capturing the 200-meter freestyle (2:06.50) and 100-meter freestyle (58.35).

Zach Eisenmann claimed the 200-meter individual medley (2:14.26) and 400-meter freestyle (4:21.26) while Ben Kisker won the 50-meter freestyle (24.76) and 100-meter backstroke (59.46) for Hamburg.

DUNKIRK/WESTFIELD/FORESTVILLE MOVES ON

FREDONIA — Taking 18 of a possible 30 points in the final two events, No. 6 Dunkirk/Westfield/Forestville broke a 74-all tie to beat No. 3 Fredonia, 92-86, in the Niagara Bracket quarterfianls of the Section VI boys swimming championships Friday.

Adam Fred, Owen Bates and Steven Zentz were all double winners for Dunkirk/Westfield/Forestville. Fred claimed the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.18) and 100-yard butterfly (58.67), Bates captured the 50-yard freestyle (25.72) and 500-yard freestyle (6:24.94), and Zentz won the 200-yard freestyle (2:12.36) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:16.27).

Dunkirk/Westfield/Forestville will visit No. 2 Iroquois in Tuesday’s semifinals.
