Cameron Page was a two-time All-American as a member of the Jamestown Community College wrestling team.

After last weekend, the Falconer native can add another significant entry to his mat resume.

Now a redshirt junior, wrestling at 184 pounds at Gannon (Pennsylvania) University, Page claimed a NCAA Division II Super Region 1 championship and a berth in the national tournament following his performance at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.

As a team, the Golden Knights, competing against American International, Alderson Broaddus, Fairmount State, Mercyhurst and Pitt-Johnstown, placed first with 122 points.

For his part, Page continued his torrid pace of the last month, ripping off back-to-back technical falls in the quarterfinals and semifinals. Once in the final, he downed Trever Begin of Mercyhurst, 10-3. He was one of six Gannon wrestlers to claim an individual title.

Of course, performing well on a big stage is not new for the Falconer Central School graduate.

Two years ago, wrestling for Jamestown CC coach Kris Schimek, Page placed third at 184 pounds to earn All-American honors at the NJCAA Wrestling Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa after finishing seventh as a freshman.

As a senior at Falconer Central School in 2017 wrestling for Coach Drew Wilcox, Page set the Falconer school record for takedowns and entered the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Tournament with a 49-4 record before finishing in third place.
