Balance Lifts Frewsburg Girls To Win
SINCLAIRVILLE — Nine different players scored for Frewsburg in a 55-37 Division 2 West win over Cassadaga Valley.
Elise Sposato led the Bears (3-2, 3-2) with 16 points to go along with three assists. Teghan Trocki, Tyra Clark and Alex Hultberg added 8 points apiece. Clark had 11 rebounds and four steals; Lizzie Schrecengost had seven rebounds; and Mikayla Jones had four steals and three assists.
Kaylee Pattyson led the Cougars (1-7, 0-4) with 20 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots. Aliyah Hopkins grabbed 10 rebounds; Sarah Meder had 12 points and six rebounds; and Brielle LeBaron had five rebounds and five assists.
Frewsburg led 40-33 entering the fourth quarter before outscoring the hosts, 15-4, over the final eight minutes.

JHS FALLS AT LANCASTER
LANCASTER — Lancaster improved to 6-0 on the year with 50-28 Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 win over visiting Jamestown (2-5).
Madison Francis and Brooke Bauer both finished with 10 points for the winners while Rachel Kamrowski added 9.
Marley Drake led Jamestown with a 14-point effort and added two assists.
Kylie O’Brien had 15 rebounds in the loss and Lauren Tracy four assists and two steals.

WILDCATS ROLL
SINCLAIRVILLE — Paige Gratto scored 15 points in the first half, Sherman built a comfortable lead and the Wildcats downed Cassadaga Valley, 56-31, in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West basketball game Thursday.
Paige Gratto finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists; Mackenzie Gratto had 18 points and 15 boards; Hayden Fisher chipped in seven rebounds and four assists; and Amaya Lewczyk and Jenna Fisher both had six steals.
The win improves the Wildcats’ record to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the division.
