JHS, Dunkirk Play To Tie

Jamestown (1-9-1, 0-9-1) and Dunkirk (0-7-1, 0-7-1) battled to a 3-3 tie at Strider Field in CCAA West action.

Bryson Travis converted on a penalty kick in the first half and grabbed a second-half tally for Dunkirk, which also picked up a goal from Nicholas Marsowicz.

Leading Jamestown were Keith Miller with a goal and an assist and Noah Burch with the same.

Tyler Maloney also tallied from John Torres for the hosts.

Ashton Witkowski made 10 saves for the Marauders and John Brito stopped five shots for Jamestown.

FREDONIA BLANKS FCV

FALCONER–Fredonia (8-1-3, 8-1-2) was a 3-0 winner over Falconer/Cassadaga Valley (3-7, 3-6).

Salvatore Tabone had a goal and two assists, Ronan Murphy and Jack Carlson had single tallies and Joshua Reynolds grabbed an assist.

WENKE NETS PAIR

SOUTH DAYTON–Portville (6-2, 6-1) was a 4-1 winner over Pine Valley/Gowanda (1-10, 1-7) in CCAA East play.

Alex Wenke had two goals and Kyle Mathes two assists for the winners, while Trey Williams and Michael Cole each found the back of the net as well.

Nate Petryszak had an assist in the win.

TEIJEIRA NETS FOUR GOALS

Alex Teijeira scored four goals, giving him 20 on the season, to lead North Collins to a 6-2 victory over Chautauqua Lake on Wednesday.

AJ Puntillo and Mitch Warsaw also scored for the winners, who improved to 7-6-1. Alex Teijeira, Carson Teijeira, Dominic Fera and Puntillo were also credited with an assist.

Carson D’Anthony had both goals for the Thunderbirds. Jackson Janicki chipped in an assist.

CARDS ARE VICTORIOUS

RANDOLPH — Ethan Shields, Jaiden Huntington and Ashton Bushey each collected a goal as Randolph improved to 4-3-1 with a 3-1 victory over Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley.

Bryson Rozler and Clayton Crouse each added an assist for the Cardinals, who scored all three goals within a six-minute span. The winning keepers were Kyle Smallback and Cameron Taylor, who each had two saves.

OLEAN PREVAILS

Alex Wenke scored two goals and Kyle Mathes added a pair of assists to lift Olean to Portville to a 4-1 victory over Pine Valley-Gowanda.

Trey Williams and Michael Cole each added an assist for the winners. Teammate Nate Petryszak collected an assist.

GIRLS

DUNKIRK SNAPS SLIDE

The streak is over.

Behind a goal by Siera Jacques at the 31st minute of the second half, Dunkirk snapped a 44-game losing streak Tuesday night with a 1-0 win over Jamestown in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division soccer action at Strider Field.

The eventual game winner was assisted by Tayler Skelly in support of keeper Summer Clark, who turned away 17 shots.

Morgan Maloney made four saves for the Red Raiders.

SALAMANCA WINS

FRANKLINVILLE — Ryleigh John scored three first-half goals to spark Salamanca to a 4-1 victory over Franklinville on Wednesday.

Harley Brown added a goal in the second half for the winners. Marla Warrior dished out a pair of assists, and Sharee Armstrong and Mariah Downey each collected one.

Makenzie Oakes was in goal for the winners and made five saves.
