Zarpentine, Keefe Lead Thunderbirds Past Silver Creek

MAYVILLE — A pair of second-half goals sent Chautauqua Lake to a 2-0 win over Silver Creek in the Central Division.

Calla Zarpentine opened the scoring in the 62nd minute off an assist from Emma Lindsey. Kylie Keefe made it 2-0 with an unassisted tally in the 76th minute.

Hailey Roush made seven saves in the shutout for the Thunderbirds (2-1-1, 2-1-1) while Alina Beadle made seven saves for the Black Knights (0-4-0, 0-4-0).

GATORS DOMINATE SECOND HALF

ALLEGANY — A five-goal second half carried Allegany-Limestone past Dunkirk, 6-1, in West Division play.

Olivia Paterniti scored for the Gators (1-2-2, 1-2-2) from Payton Fortuna before Mia Piede answered for the Marauders (0-5-0, 0-4-0) before halftime.

After the break, Paterniti scored two more goals to complete her hat trick; Kristen McMullen scored twice and Gracie Amore scored once for Allegany-Limestone. McMullen and Paterniti each had two assists while Janie Missel also had a helper.

Kelsey Riordan made five saves for the Gators while Tayler Skelly made 14 saves for Dunkirk.

RODGERS EARNS SHUTOUT

Cadence Rodgers made seven saves for a shutout as Frewsburg blanked Maple Grove, 3-0, in the Central Division.

Sam Annis opened the scoring from Alexandra Hultberg in the 30th minute for the Bears (5-0-0, 4-0-0). Before halftime, Tyra Clark added an insurance goal from Kendal Sohl.

After the break, Ashlyn Samuelson tallied from Ava Hultberg.

Kasie Craig made 10 saves for the Red Dragons (3-1-0, 3-1-0).

WOLVERINES EDGE EAGLES

NORTH COLLINS — Jacqulyn Ward had a goal and an assist as Westfield/Brocton topped North Collins, 2-1, in the Central Division.

Ward assisted on Juli Smith’s goal in the 29th minute before adding a goal of her own from Sheala Barresi in the 42nd minute for the Wolverines (3-1-1, 2-1-1).

Lina Young scored an unassisted goal for the Eagles (0-5-0, 0-4-0).

Angel Busch made six saves for Westfield/Brocton while Michaela Rice made eight saves for North Collins.

KOSINSKI NETS HAT TRICK

PORTVILLE — Teagan Kosinski netted a first-half hat trick as Portville blanked Pine Valley/Gowanda, 8-0.

Meghan Lyle, Kendall Artlip, Faith Capito, Matteson Fries and Courtney Lyle also scored for Portville (2-1-0, 2-1-0). Mia Welty, Olivia Dean, Artlip and Courtney Lyle each had an assist.

Capito and Caydence Zalwsky combined for three saves in the shutout.

Pine Valley/Gowanda fell to 1-3-0 overall and in the league.

BALANCED ATTACK FOR EAGLES

ELLICOTTVILLE — Three different goal scorers lifted Ellicottville past Randolph, 3-0, in the East Division.

Mandy Hurlburt, Logan Fredrickson and Jocelyn Wyatt scored for the Eagles (5-0-0, 4-0-0) while Fredrickson also chipped in an assist.

Jenna Hadley made two saves for the shutout. Miranda Waterman made 16 saves for the Cardinals (3-1-0, 3-1-0).
