Rotarians To Circle Lake For World Polio Day

Four members of the Greater Jamestown AM Rotary will tour the circumfrence of Chautauqua Lake, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday as part of the Pedal For Polio fundraising campaign.

A local portion of the larger World Polio Day event that will be held on Oct. 24, the 44-mile ride will include rotarians Kelly Dawson, David Eakers, Greg Leonard and acting co-president Scott Sawyer.

“This was something that the new district governor, Frank Adamson, put together. He is a biker, and part of his duties are that he visits every rotary, and he established this as a goal,” Sawyer said. “He would like to see every rotarian group raise $1,800.”

The fundraising campaign has currently raised $1,060 of that goal, and can be found at https://raise.rotary.org/GreaterJamestownNY-AMRotary/challenge.

The rain date for the ride will be Sunday.
