Conley Scores Twice In Trojans’ Victory

Brynne Conley scored a pair of goals to lead Southwestern (5-3, 3-3) to a 2-0 win over Fredonia (3-2-1, 3-2-1) in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division soccer game Tuesday.

Conley tallied from Cora Casselman in the second minute of play, and added another goal unassisted in the first five minutes of the second half.

Morgan Troutman made seven saves in the shutout.

GOLDEN COUGARS BLANK JAMESTOWN

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley was a 2-0 winner over host Jamestown at Strider Field in West Division play.

With eight minutes remaining in the opening half, Sarah Meder opened up the scoring with a corner kick.

The Golden Cougars (3-3-0, 3-2-0) made it 2-0 in the second half when Ali Davis finished off a pass by Harmony Jennings.

Haileigh Rhodes was in net for the Red Raiders (0-3-2, 0-3-2) and Grace Lundmark made nine saves in goal for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley.

KNIGHTS EARN FIRST WIN

SILVER CREEK — Host Silver Creek was a 5-1 winner over North Collins (0-7-0, 0-5-0) in Central Division play.

Carly Barrett led the way with two goals and one assist; Abby Rice had one goal and two assists; Kylie Procknal one goal and one assist; while Karli Deet grabbed the final goal for Silver Creek (1-5-0, 1-4-0).

Alina Beadle made five saves for the winners.

MARAUDERS SHUT OUT

OLEAN — Seven different goal scorers helped Olean blank Dunkirk, 9-0, in the West Division.

Alexis Gibbons netted a hat trick while Emily Gibbons, Jezerae Fayson, Paxton Retchless, Madison Jones, Rebecca Schneider and Chrissy Martin also scored for the Huskies (4-0-1, 4-0-1).

Tayler Skelly was credited with 17 saves for the Marauders (0-6-0, 0-5-0).

BEARS STAY UNBEATEN

MAYVILLE — Frewsburg scored a goal in each half to get by Chautauqua Lake, 2-0, in Central Division action.

Alexandra Hultberg tallied from Nora Edwards in the 37th minute before Reagan Chitester scored unassisted in the 47th minute for the Bears (7-0-0, 5-0-0).

Madison Voty made 12 saves in net for the winners.

The Thunderbirds fell to 2-2-1 overall and in the league.

BARRESI NETS WINNER

WESTFIELD — Makena Barresi’s goal in the 53rd minute was the lone tally in Westfield/Brocton’s 1-0 Central Division shutout of Maple Grove.

Angel Busch made eight saves in net for the Wolverines (4-1-1, 3-1-1).

The Red Dragons fell to 3-2-0 overall and in the league.

EAGLES BLANK PANTHERS

SOUTH DAYTON — Ellicottville scored twice in each half en route to a 4-0 shutout of Pine Valley/Gowanda in the East Division.

Logan Fredrickson scored from Mandy Hurlburt before Hurlburt scored from Sammi Lin in the opening 40 minutes.

After the break, Jocelyn Wyatt scored from Brooke Butler and Audrey Hurlburt scored from Mandy Hurlburt.

Jenna Hadley made fives saves in the shutout for the Eagles (7-0-0, 6-0-0).

The Panthers fell to 1-4-0 overall and in the league.
