Patriot Open Top Performers

The Chautauqua Lake Bassmasters hosted the annual Patriot Open at Long Point State Park this past weekend. Twenty-five boats filled the field on a rainy day, making the fishing more difficult, with both a chill in the air and nonactive fish in the water. Bill McKelvey weighed in Big Bass at 4.87 pounds, which helped he and his partner, Clayton Schuh, earn first place with a total of 18.06 pounds. Bill Washell and Derek Horner were close behind by bringing in 18.02 pounds of bass. Rounding out the top three were Randy Dustin and George Pitchford with 16.97 pounds. The club will be hosting a Walleye Open on Sept. 27.
