AED Donation

P-J photo by Scott Kindberg

Jamestown Babe Ruth World Series President Russ Diethrick, left, and BRWS vice president and City Council member-at-large Kimberly Ecklund present the City of Jamestown an Automated External Defibrillator that was generously donated by Jim Mulgrew. Mulgrew is a Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Baseball umpire from Northridge, Massachusetts who uses the money he earns from umpiring games to purchase AEDs for different youth baseball organizations. This AED unit will reside at Russell E. Diethrick Jr. Park to be used as a life-saving device. City Parks crews are trained on its use. Also pictured in the presentation are Dan Stone, city arborist; and Matt Coon city deputy fire chief.
