After about a four-month hiatus from live sports coverage, professional sports leagues have just started to get back into the swing of things thanks to meticulous planning to keep the players and fans safe, while still providing the entertainment millions have been craving. Zeddie Williams from Irving is playing for the Whipsnakes in the Premier Lacrosse League and has helped usher the United States back into hosting live sports.

Williams and the Whipsnakes got the year started off on NBC in a game against the Redwoods, where Williams scored three goals in a 13-9 victory. With the PLL season playing a tournament format this year during what would have been NBC Olympic coverage, the young lacrosse league, in only its second season, has the chance to show how exciting the sport is in high volume in a short time period.

Every night opening week has a game on either NBC or NBCSN, and in a short tournament format every game is that much more important.

Williams and the Whipsnakes return to action on Thursday night against Atlas Lacrosse Club on NBCSN at 7 p.m., then in a quick turnaround they play against Chaos Lacrosse Club Friday night at 7 p.m. on NBCSN. With a rest day on Saturday, the Whipsnakes finish up group play against the Archers Lacrosse Club at noon on Sunday again on NBCSN.

Monday, will be another rest day as the playoff schedule gets set in stone and Tuesday will feature three playoff games during the time slots 5:30 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on NBCSN. The semifinals then will be played on Thursday Aug. 6, with times yet to be determined and the Championship Game is set for Sunday, Aug. 9 at 12:30 p.m.
