Just In Time For Father’s Day

The third Saturday in June is the opening of the regular bass and muskie season in our part of the country. Traditionally, opening day falls on Father’s Day weekend, which is extra special for anglers. For six decades, I have helped celebrate Father’s Day, the first two for my dad and last ones, well, you all can do the math.

Over the years I have received my share of great gifts. Heck, all gifts are great, but there are always certain ones that stand the test of time, like that fishing lure my grandsons gave me, that still hangs in my office for the fear of losing it; the hunting knife my daughter gave me many years ago that I still carry today; and the dozens of other gifts I have enjoyed over the years.

With Father’s Day fast approaching, I thought I would put together a list for those who are looking for something special for their dad. Don’t worry, I’ve got your back. We still have plenty of time to procure the perfect gift for dear old dad. Many of the following ideas I have been fortunate to test myself, which makes them worth mentioning here.
