Dean Turns In Best Times At States

EAST MEADOW — Jamestown’s Kyle Dean recorded his personal best and was awarded a ribbon in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday at the Nassau County Aquatic Center.

The junior finished 19th overall and 15th among public schools in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.96. Jake Ang of Sewanhaka finished in first with a time of 20.91.

Dean also finished 27th overall and 24th among public schools in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.63, with Eli LanFear of Chenango Valley finishing in first place with a time of 46.02

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Dean, Jacob Roehmholdt, Jacob Anderson and Brenna Roehmholdt finished 28th overall and 22nd among public schools with a time of 1:31.59. The Bethlehem relay of Jason Wu, Max Kaback, John Janesi and Joey Chiarella received first-place honors with a time of 1:26.56.
