Black Bears Sweep Rebels In Maryland

ODENTON, Md. — Aaron Swanson scored his 15th goal of the season 22 seconds into the third period as the Maryland Black Bears beat the Jamestown Rebels, 2-1, in North American Hockey League East Division action Saturday at Piney Orchard Ice Arena.

Maryland (20-23-7-0) took a 1-0 lead 17:51 into the first period as Hampus Rydqvist scored his 11th of the season from Logan Kons and Jack Smiley while short handed.

Jamestown (20-29-1-2) scored its lone goal on the power play at 12:33 of the second period when Nick Siffringer scored his 13th from Tyler German and Conner Couet.

Jon Howe made 33 saves in net for the Rebels and Cooper Black made 17 saves for the Black Bears.

Jamestown returns to action Friday and Saturday at Northwest Arena against the New Jersey Titans.
