Flyers Gymnastics in Falconer is set to host the fourth annual Comedy Classic gymnastics meet on Saturday and Sunday. A sanctioned Junior Olympic and Xcel New York State Qualifier, it will have gymnasts competing from Pennsylvania, Canandaigua, and the Buffalo area. Sherri Melson, program director, wanted to create an event which embraces the community’s rich comedic roots. The event will showcase some of the local and surrounding area’s finest athletes. The Comedy Classic kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Saturday with level 2 sanctioned gymnasts. The main event for level 4-10 gymnasts begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday. This session will feature the Flyers’ high-level optional program, including Flyers level 7 gymnasts Elayna Pitts, Gracie Barber and Kaylin Russell, Level 8 gymnasts Lauren Allen and Corinne Inkley, and level 9 gymnasts Kayla Allen and Cassidy Allen. Coach Emily Pfleuger will be singing the national anthem. On Sunday, level 3 gymnasts will compete, starting at 8:30 a.m., followed by all Xcel gymnasts at noon. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for veterans, and children under 12 are free. Flyers Gymnastics is located at 1765 Lindquist Drive in Falconer across from Land Pro.
