The Jamestown Rebels completed their third weekend sweep of the season by beating the Maryland Black Bears, 3-2, in North American Hockey League East Division action Saturday night at Northwest Arena.

The victory came on the heels of a 5-3 win over the Black Bears on Friday night.

Maryland (16-17-7-0) led 1-0 after the first period Saturday as Hampus Rydqvist scored his 10th goal of the season from Brayden Stannard just 1:35 into the game.

The Rebels (15-24-1-0) got back in the game with a two-goal second period. Captain Eric Olson got Jamestown on the board over five minutes into the period when he converted on the power play for his 15th goal of the season from Noah Finstrom and Janis Vizbelis.

The Black Bears again took a one-goal lead less than two minutes later when Kyle Oleksiuk scored his eighth of the season from Aden Bruich and Stannard, but the Rebels tied the game with less than four minutes to play in the middle frame as Nick Siffringer scored his eighth of the season from Olson and Valentino Passarelli.

Siffringer scored the eventual game-winning goal just 41 seconds into the third period with his ninth of the season from Passarelli and Kaden Varga.

Noah West stopped 28 shots in net for Jamestown while Cooper Black made 29 saves for Maryland.

The Rebels and Black Black Bears will renew acquaintances this coming weekend in Odenton, Maryland with a Friday-Saturday two-game series at Piney Orchard Ice Arena.
