Bentley Steps Up For Portville Against Randolph

RANDOLPH — Eighth-grader Lillian Bentley scored 21 points to lead Portville to a 54-34 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 East girls basketball win over Randolph on Tuesday night.

The Panthers (8-2, 2-1) led 23-18 at halftime before Bentley scored 11 points during a 13-6 third quarter to widen the gap.

Karly Welty added 19 points and five assists; Shayla Wilhelm had 10 points and 13 rebounds; and Mallory Welty had eight rebounds and three steals for Portville.

Sydney Hvizdzak led the Cardinals (5-6, 1-2) with 14 points, three assists and two steals to go along with seven rebounds while Tyra Clark grabbed nine rebounds.
