ELLICOTTVILLE — Emma Wiggers had 17 points as Clymer opened its season with a 49-33 nonleague girls basketball win over Ellicottville on Monday.
Alison Einink add 12 points and Justine Kuno had 10 for the Pirates (1-0), who used a 20-6 second quarter to pull away from the Eagles (0-1).
Emilee Ruiz led Ellicottville with 12 points and Evelyn Nuzzo added 11.

CHEEKTOWAGA — Seven players found the scoring column as Silver Creek started the season with a 41-24 nonleague victory over Cleveland Hill.
Abby Rice led the way for the Black Knights, scoring 21 points, grabbing eight rebounds and getting five blocks. Kiera Brennan had seven rebounds while and both Phoebe Kingsfield and Chloe Barrett had five rebounds.
