Snyder Makes Most Of His Opportunity

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — A Southwestern Central School graduate made the most of his opportunity in Saturday’s Big Ten Conference football game in Happy Valley.

Freshman quarterback Cole Snyder completed all three passes he attempted, good for 35 yards, while rushing once for 6 yards in Rutgers’ 27-6 loss to Penn State. His longest completion was 21 yards.

The 6-foot-1, 202-pounder had quite a high school career, capped by a 2018 campaign in which he completed 140 of 222 passes for 2,069 yards and 37 touchdowns, while rushing for 482 yards and another six TDs.

For his efforts, Snyder was named All-USA New York state First-Team quarterback, the Section VI Class C South Player of the Year and The Post-Journal Player of the Year.
