CELORON — Michael Peppy of Bemus Point and Brooke Adams of Randolph were the top male and female finishers at the 19th annual Amy King 5K on Saturday.

Peppy toured the course in 16 minutes, 1 second, just ahead of Shawn Wiler of Columbus, Pennsylvania (16:06). Trenton Shutters of Jamestown was third (18:28).

Meanwhile, Adams posted a winning time of 20:02 to lead the women, followed by Hannah Lillie of Lakewood (22:02) in second place. Judy Porpiglia of Sinclairville (22:07) was third.

Begun in 2001, the run/walk is an effort by Amy’s family, friends and the running community to remember the Southwestern Central School graduate and flight attendant, who wa among those killed when the United Airlines plane she was riding in was flown into the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Amy King Kids’ YMCA Summer Camp and Southwestern Central School scholarships.
