Crist, McDonald Shine At Buffalo State Saturday
BUFFALO — Six local athletes came home as winners at the season’s second indoor track and field meet Saturday at Buffalo State College.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove/Frewsburg/Randolph’s Ava Crist won the girls 600 meters in 1:48.19 while teammate Hope Marshall was fourth.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove/Frewsburg/Randolph’s Josh Walters, Riley Auer and Rayven Sample took the top three spots in the boys 600 meters with Walters finishing in 1:27.67.
Teammate Ronan McDonald won the boys 1,600 meters in 4:44.22 while Fredonia/Westfield’s Oliver Madariaga won the boys 300 meters in 38.19. Auer was fourth and Jamestown’s Nathan Hill was sixth in that race.
Fredonia/Westfield’s Savannah Lashbrook won the girls 3,000 meters in 11:47.87 and teammate Rian Budzinski won the boys triple jump (36-3). Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove/Frewsburg/Randolph’s Jayden Johns was sixth and teammate Emmett Carlson was seventh.
Crist, Marshall, Hannah Eckert and Elisabeth Root won the girls 3,200-meter relay for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove/Frewsburg/Randolph with a time of 11:46.05 while Dunkirk’s Kylie Procknal, Juliana Flick, Siera Jacques and Chloe Vecchio took first in the girls 1,600-meter relay with a time of 4:42.69. Jamestown was fifth, Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove/Frewsburg/Randolph was sixth and Jamestown was seventh.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove/Frewsburg/Randolph won the boys 1,600-meter relay as a team of Sample, Auer, Zach Heberlein and Walters finished in 3:48.90.
McDonald, Walters, Wyatt Harrington and John Brockelbank were second in the boys 3,200-meter relay (9:11.08) while Jamestown was sixth.
Root was second in the girls 1,000 meters (3:36.91) while teammates Rylee Gore and Marie Lemay were third and seventh, respectively.
McDonald was second in the boys 1,000 meters (2:41.93) and Sample was third.
Fredonia/Westfield’s Kelly Lucas was second in the girls high jump (4-8) while teammate Abby Lauer was fifth and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove/Frewsburg/Randolph’s Jasmine Spangler was sixth.
Fredonia/Westfield’s Hessen Bahgat was second in the boys high jump (5-6) and Johns was sixth.
Jamestown’s Takye Branch was second in the long jump (18-5.75) while Budzinski was third and Jamestown’s Nathan Roehrig was seventh.
Procknal, Flick, Jacques and Jessica Vasquez finished fourth in the girls 800-meter relay for Dunkirk with a time of 2:03.32.
Bahgat was fifth in the boys 55-meter hurdles (9.99) with Jamestown’s Christian Pumford and Andrew Johnson in sixth and seventh, respectively.
Procknal was fifth in the girls 55-meter dash (7.99) while Jamestown’s Giovana Calamunci was sixth and Fredonia/Westfield’s Ava Cook was seventh.
Jamestown’s Jillian Horton was seventh in the girls 1,000-meter race walk and Cook was seventh in the girls 300 meters.
