Baglia Leads Golden Cougars At Pioneer Duals

YORKSHIRE — Bryce Baglia recorded his 100th career win and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley claimed the team title at the Pioneer Duals on Saturday.

Baglia finished 7-0 at 152 pounds, one of five Golden Cougars to record that mark. Also going 7-0 were Brayden Newman (106), Joey Pillitieri (132), Hudson Johnson (182) and Brock Johnson (195).

Other individual results were Austin Chase (113), 6-1; Hunter Teboe (138), 6-1; Mack Mikula (160), 4-3; John Kozlowski (170), 4-2; Collin Beichner (220), 6-1; and Collin Mower (285), 4-3.

Falconer’s victories were against Newfane, 51-21; Letchworth, 66-19; Hilton, 49-26; Orchard Park, 66-24; Fredonia, 51-27; and Pal-Mac, 53-30.

TRIM SHINES

FOR MAPLE GROVE

LOCKPORT — Maple Grove’s Kyle Trim earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors at the Starpoint Duals.

Wrestling at 182 pounds, Trim recorded pins in all five of his matches to highlight a strong showing by the Red Dragons.

Also claiming five victories were Luke Tomlinson, including five pins at 132; Lukas Baer, including three pins at 113; and Jake Tomlinson, including three falls at 194.

RAIDERS PLACE THIRD

PORTVILLE — Jamestown claimed a third-place finish at the Portville Invitational on Saturday, finishing behind first-place Portville and second-place Southwestern.

Highlighting the event for the Red Raiders were first-place finishes by junior Taylor Crofoot with a 5-2 decision over Cayden Hatch of Franklinville/Cuba-Rushford at 113 pounds; and senior Dwayne Hannold with a 19-4 technical fall over Tyler Learn of Franklinville/Cuba-Rushford at 138 pounds.

Seventh-grader Cole Bloomquist placed second at 99 pounds, losing to John Vacario of Eden by pin in the championship match.

Also turning in strong efforts for Jamestown were Skylynn Tomlinson, fourth place at 99 pounds; Drew Padilla, fourth at 106 pounds; Keith Miller, fifth at 120 pounds; Daniel O’Brien, fifth at 132 pounds; Aric Bloomquist, fifth at 160 pounds; Darren Pollaro, third at 220 pounds; and Caleb Bane, third at 285 pounds.
