Wright Scores Five TDs, Trojans Roll In Class C Far West Regional
BROCKPORT — Tywon Wright rushed for 251 yards on 16 carries and scored five touchdowns to lead Southwestern to a 54-8 victory over Letchworth-Warsaw in the Class C Far West Regional at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium on the campus of SUNY Brockport on Saturday afternoon.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound running back found paydirt from 26, 31, 19, 59 and 1 yards — all in the first half — giving him 10 TDs and nearly 500 yards on the ground in his last two games.
That dominant performance — behind a stout offensive line — was too much for the Trojans’ Section V opponent, whose only TD came late in the final period.
Southwestern (11-0) now advances to the York State Public High School Athletic Association Western semifinal at 11 a.m. Saturday against Section IV Susquehanna Valley at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. Susquehanna Valley moved on by edging Section III Lowville, 44-36.
Also scoring touchdowns for the Trojans were Zishaun Munir (1-yard run), Conrad Thomas (21-yard run) and Nate Johnson (on a 23-yard pass from Austin Rott).
