Tomahawks Rout Rebels 6-1

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — The Jamestown Rebels had another rough night Friday, suffering a 6-1 loss to the Johnstown Tomahawks at 1st Summit Arena at Cambria County War Memorial in North American Hockey League East Division play.

The game featured 140 minutes of penalties, including six fights, as the Rebels went 0 for 9 on the power play and the Tomahawks went 2 for 10.

Bennett Stockdale opened the scoring for Johnstown at the 6:22 mark of the opening period with his seventh goal of the season from Tristan Poissant and Noah Basarab.

Jamestown tied it just over a minute later as Nick Siffringer scored from Tyler German and Kasyn Kruse, but from there it was all Tomahawks.

Andrew Murphy, Sean Bauchens and Carson Gallagher found the back of the net before the first period was over as Johnstown took a 4-1 lead into the locker room.

Gallagher scored his second of the game on the power play at 5:48 of the second period and Matthew Doyle made it 6-1 with just 24 seconds left in the second period.

Jon Howe stopped 25 of 31 shots he faced for the Rebels while David Tomeo made 15 saves on just 16 shots for the Tomahawks.

The teams will finish their three-game series today at 7 p.m.
