Shorthanded Jayhawks Find Success At Pitt-Titusville

TITUSVILLE, Pa. — Jamestown Community College’s men’s basketball team improved to 2-1 on the year with a 90-77 win over Pitt-Titusville in NJCAA Division II play.

Sheick Kourmora shot 9 of 12 from the field including 4 for 6 from beyond the arc to lead the way with 27 points, seven rebounds and two steals.

“We were missing four guys in our rotation due to injury,” Jamestown CC head coach Xavier Churnac said. “It took a little bit of time to adjust. It wasn’t a pretty game for us, but some guys who don’t usually play as much got some time in there. We are still trying to figure out who we are.”

Jake Hougan added 21 points, 12 rebounds and two steals for the Jayhawks, while Carl Jackson added 12 points.

Jamestown CC shot 8 for 15 from 3-point range and was a 41-35 leader at halftime.

The Jayhawks will host Montgomery College of Maryland at the Physical Education Complex on Saturday at 5 p.m.
