Cross Country Sectionals Invade Knox Farm This Morning

EAST AURORA — The best runners in the Southern Tier will take to the course at Knox Farm in East Aurora today for the Section VI Cross Country Championships, with action beginning at 10 a.m.

The boys Class A race will be held at 10 a.m., followed by Class B at 10:30, Class A girls at 11 a.m., Class B girls at 11:35 a.m., Class C boys at 1 p.m., Class D boys at 1:30 p.m., Class C girls at 2 p.m. and Class D girls at 2:35 p.m.

The award ceremonies will be held at noon for Class A, 12:35 p.m. for Class B, 3 p.m. for Class C and 3:35 p.m. for class D.

Last Friday at Long Point State Park Randolph’s Ronan McDonald claimed an individual Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association title with a time of 16:15.92, while Maple Grove’s Ava Crist took home the girls race in 18:58.61.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley won the boys team title while Maple Grove was the overall girls winner.
