MEN’S SOCCER

JCC FALLS

ERIE, Pa. — The Gannon University junior varsity men’s soccer team picked up a 3-2 nonleague win over Jamestown Community College on Tuesday in a game that was shortened due to weather.

Luuk Willemsen collected both goals for the Jayhawks, finding the back of the net on a direct kick in the final minute of the first half and adding another goal on a pass by Kean Thomas in the 61st minute.

Jakob Moore made seven saves and Tommy Harrington two saves for the Jayhawks.

“They play out of a high-quality scholarship program,” said Jamestown CC coach Pat Anderson. “We had to play defense and play it well. It was exactly what I was looking for in terms of forcing us to play defense.”

Jamestown CC is now 10-5-3 on the year and will travel to face Roberts Wesleyan on Friday at 7 p.m. to close out the regular season.
