WILLIAMSVILLE — A pair of Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association doubles teams were able to win their first-round matches, but lost in the quarterfinals at the Section VI Tennis Championships on Friday at the Miller Tennis Center.

Southwestern’s Elizabeth Kane and Hiba Munir topped Lancaster’s Corrie Bartos and Courtney Mann 6-1, 6-1 in the first round while Falconer’s Macy Youngberg and Nicole Youngberg also won in the first round, 6-0, 6-0 over East Aurora’s Lilly Miller and Gigi Perry.

Kane and Munir then fell to Orchard Park’s Maya Clinard and Mallory Musterait 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals while the Youngbergs lost to Clarence’s Ava Casell and Julia Laspro 6-2, 6-3.

Frewsburg’s duo of Anjolie Sanfilippo and Elise Sposato lost their first-round match, 6-1, 6-1 to Clinard and Musterait while Olean’s Brookelinn Garey and Mackenzie Windus lost to Orchard Park’s Kelly Barnes and Zoe Watson 6-0, 6-0.

Fredonia’s Bernie Gens and Alicia Kluck, Chautauqua Lake’s Emily Bauer and Maple Grove’s Jenna Hayes will compete in the singles tournament today.
