Wolverines Pull Away In 2nd Half
SOUTH DAYTON — Westfield/Brocton topped Pine Valley 7-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division girls soccer Thursday.
Katie Bodenmiller and Haleigh Dellow scored in the opening 40 minutes for the Wolverines (5-0-0, 2-0-0).
After the break, Sheala Barresi, Dellow, Juli Smith, Makena Barresi and Isabella Bratton found the back of the net.
Makena Barresi and Bodenmiller each had a pair of assists while Jamie Black, Makartnee Mortimer and Dellow each had one.
Angel Busch made six saves in the shutout.
EAGLES BLANK T’WOLVES
CATTARAUGUS — Three different goal scorers helped Ellicottville blank Cattaraugus-Little Valley 3-0 in East Division play.
Camryn Earley and Kaitlyn McGuire scored in the first half before Alysa Williams tallied in the second half for the Eagles (2-1-0, 1-0-0). Logan Fredrickson and Emilee Ruiz had assists.
Izzy Deliman made 18 saves in net for the Timberwolves (2-3-0, 0-1-0).
CARDINALS PREVAIL
Randolph topped Salamanca 3-2 in East Division play.
Aly Hill scored the Warriors’ first goal in the 30th minute and added their second goal in the 23rd minute of the second half on a rebound of her own penalty kick.
Natalie Barrus scored from Savannah Rhodes in the fifth minute to give the Cardinals (1-4-0, 1-0-0) a 1-0 lead. In the second half, Tyra Clark made it 2-1 with an unassisted goal before she added another unassisted tally to make it 3-1.
Holly McGonigle made five saves in net for Salamanca (3-3, 2-1) while Miranda Waterman made 10 saves for Randolph.
