Singles Players Carry Maple Grove Past Thunderbirds On Senior Night
BEMUS POINT — Maple Grove was a 3-2 winner over visiting Chautauqua Lake in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division girls tennis play.
Jenna Hayes led the Red Dragons on Senior Night, beating Emily Bauer 6-4, 6-1 at first singles while Emma Collins was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Logan Walczak in the second spot.
Ryann Hayes aided Maple Grove (4-6, 3-3) with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Elizabeth Marshaus at third singles.
Kira Erickson teamed up with Elise Riedesel while Naomi Fisher teamed up with Abby Paulus for doubles wins for the Thunderbirds (5-4, 1-3).

Frewsburg was a 3-2 East Division winner over Jamestown.
Elise Sposato led the Bears (7-5, 4-3) at first singles, topping CeCe Eklum 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-1. Both of Frewsburg’s doubles teams were also victorious.
At second singles Alayne Schobey grabbed a win for the Red Raiders (1-7, 1-5), besting Anjolie Sanfilippo 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, and at third singles Madison Smith beat Samantha Burkett 6-3, 7-5.
