Midget Football

The Westside Panthers traveled north to take on the rival Fredonia Hillbillies on Saturday.

MODIFIED

The Panthers continued their winning ways with a 24-7 victory. Their records stands at 3-0 on the season.

The ground attack was led by Isaiah Sanchez, who ran for 225 yards. He scored on touchdown runs of 69 yards and 90 yards. Quarterback Mike Patrick connected with Caleb Piazza for a 7-yard TD strike and a 2-point conversion pass. Patric also tossed 2-point conversions to Cole Bloomquist and Tyrese Wofford.

The Panthers defense had several standout performances led by Tyrell Reese, who had 10 tackles and a fumble recovery. Tommy Pratton was close behind with eight tackles and a fumble recovery. Carsen Bane and Aiden Devereaux each had four tackles and a fumble recovery. Bloomquist tallied seven stops and Tyler Zwald had five. Panebianco had four tackles and a timely sack. Jack Lundberg also had four tackles.

VARSITY

The Panthers extended their record to 3-0 losses with a 19-0 defeat of the Hillbillies in a very tough game.

Ayden Samuelson started the game with a 65-yard touchdown run on the fist play. He had 80 yards rushing on the day. Nate Sanchez gained 142 yards on the ground, scoring on runs of 10 yards and 69 yards.

The defense battled a tough Hillbillies offense. Eligh DeLeon led the team with eight tackles. Nazayah Figuerdo had seven stops while Luis Valliente and Cole Anderson each had six tackles. Dominic Gonzalez, Sanchez and Markie Mescall each wrestled four Hillbillies ball carriers to the ground. Sanchez also scooped up a fumble.

JAYVEE

The Panthers lost a very close game 19-13.

The offense saw Blake Swanson gain 144 yards, including a 65-yard TD run. Quarterback Noah Gonzalez scrambled for 72 yards total. He scored on a 32-yard run.

Cole Meabon led the defense with an impressive 12 tackles followed by Gage Delahoy who had 11 tackles. Cole Strickland had seven stops and Landon Graham added four tackles. Drew Bloomquist and Cole Meabon each tallied a sack.
