Izzy Penhollow Scores Twice; Maple Grove Shuts Out T’Birds

SINCLAIRVILLE — Izzy Penhollow scored two goals and had two assists to lead Falconer/Cassadaga Valley to a 6-1 victory over Dunkirk in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division girls soccer game Thursday.

Lauralin Destro added a pair of goals for the Golden Cougars (6-2-2, 2-1-1), while Kayla Lynn and Grace Elder each had one.

Grace Lundmark was between the pipes, collecting three saves.

Kathy Davis had the only goal for the Marauders (0-11-0, 0-5-0).

MARTIN SCORES WINNER

Courtney Martin scored in the 70th minute as Maple Grove blanked Chautauqua Lake 1-0 in Central Division action.

Kasie Craig made six saves in the shutout for the Red Dragons (3-4-1, 3-2-1).

Hailey Roush made four saves for the Thunderbirds (4-5-0, 2-4-0).

CLARK CLUTCH FOR CARDS

CATTARAUGUS — Tyra Clark scored twice for Randolph, including the overtime winner, as the Cardinals beat Cattaraugus-Little Valley 2-1 in East Division play.

Madison Spink opened the scoring in the 12th minute for the Timberwolves (4-7-0, 0-5-0).

Clark then scored in the 55th minute unassisted before tallying from Willow Rader in the fifth minute of overtime.

Izzy Deliman made 16 saves for Cattaraugus-Little Valley and Miranda Waterman made five for the Cardinals (2-7-1, 2-2-1).

COSSIN TALLIES A PAIR

SILVER CREEK — Jaylah Cossin scored twice to lead Silver Creek to a 5-0 Central Division shutout of Pine Valley.

Cossin scored in the fourth minute, Chloe Barrett tallied from Rachael Beadle in the 13th minute and Carly Barrett scored from Chloe Barrett in the 20th minute for the Black Knights (5-4-0, 2-3-0).

After halftime, Cossin scored in the 58th minute and Angela Pacifici scored from Alivia Penman in the 74th minute.

Alina Beadle and Tessa Karcz combined for six saves in the shutout.

The Panthers fell to 0-9-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the league.

EAGLES, PANTHERS DRAW

ELLICOTTVILLE — Each team scored in overtime as Ellicottville and Franklinville played to a 2-2 East Division tie.

Jocelyn Wyatt scored in the second half and Mandy Hurlburt scored in overtime for the Eagles (5-2-1, 4-0-1), who received six saves from Brooke Eddy in net.

Franklinville moved to 2-6-2 overall and 1-2-2 in the league.

PORTVILLE’S WELTY SHINES

PORTVILLE — Karly Welty scored twice to lead Portville to a 4-1 East Division victory over Salamanca.

Welty scored from Harley Robinson in the fourth minute and Courtney Lyle scored from Teagan Kosinski in the 35th minute for the Panthers (5-2-1, 4-1-0).

After the break, Olivia Dean tallied from Welty in the 51st minute and Welty scored from Kendall Artlip in the 61st minute.

The Warriors (6-5-0, 2-3-0) got on the board in the 78th minute when Mariah Downey scored from Aly Hill.

Holly McGonigle and Alexis Palmeri combined for five saves for Salamanca while Faith Capito made six saves for Portville.

JAMESTOWN FALLS AGAIN

ORCHARD PARK — Five different goal scorers led Orchard Park to a 5-0 Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 win over Jamestown.

Lily Flannery, Rachael Major, Anna Dunlop, Kelsey Zybczynski and Kylie McPoland scored for the Quakers (5-6-1, 4-4-1) while Flannery, Charlotte Takacsy and Dunlop each had an assist.

Mollie Collins made two saves in the shutout.

Jamestown fell to 2-9-0 overall and 0-9-0 in the league.
