More than 100 youngsters turned out Sunday for the first of 12 weekly “Open Court” sessions at the Southwestern High School gymnasium. The program, sponsored by USA Basketball, provides youngsters, ages 6-17, the opportunity to decide how to engage with the game under the supervision of USA Basketball-licensed coaches. Southwestern is one of seven locations in the country that will be running the Open Court program, which is free and open to any youngster from any school district.
