Allesi, Burch Stand Out On Asquith Tour

WARREN, Pa. — Sam Allesi and Ken Burch, playing in Flight A from the White tees, fired matching 87s to lead the Art Asquith Senior Golf Tour during its stop at Jackson Valley Country Club last week.

Allesi also led with a minus-2 while Burch was minus-3. Randy Carlson and Jim White tied at minus-5.

In Flight B, also from the White tees, Joe Matte led with a 91 and a plus-4. Bob Burlingame was second at minus-1 while Paul Bell was at even-0.

In Flight A from the Gold tees, Dave Allen led with an 83 while Joe McCourt was at plus-2. Allen finished at plus-1 while Don Hustead was minus-1.

In Flight B from the Gold Tees, Gary SaGurney and Ed Johnson tied with 89s. Bruce Dudgeon was plus-3, SaGurney plus-1 and Barry Harris plus-1.

In Flight C from the Gold Tees, Vince Willis fired a 94 and Lynn Butcher was plus-2. Willis was at even-0 while Jim Smith and Bill Anderson tied at minus-1.

In Flight D from the Gold Tees, Charlie Stafford fired a 102 while Jim Polvino was plus-5. Ed Potter was plus-3 and Stafford was plus-2.

Closest to the pin honors went to Brian Eckwahl on No. 2, Pete Pascatore on No. 6, Clyde Mohl on No. 8, Paul Edson on No. 12 and Jim White on No. 15.
