Vaughn, Salvaggio Shine At Section VI Golf Tourney

GRAND ISLAND — Three golfers from the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association advanced to play an extra nine holes in Monday’s Section VI Championships, but they each fell short of advancing to the state tournament next month.

Max Vaughn of Southwestern, Caden Salvaggio of Jamestown and Michael Davis of Allegany-Limestone shot 84, 88 and 88 respectively on the par 72 River Oaks Golf Club layout. The top 20 finishers, including ties, moved on to the extra nine holes where Vaughn shot a 44, Salvaggio a 41 and Davis a 52.
