Falconer Holds Off Knights In 8 Innings

FALCONER — Jedd Jaroszynski’s single in the bottom of the eighth inning plated Matt Gullotti with the winning run to send Falconer to a 4-3 victory over Silver Creek in a CCAA Division 1 West baseball game on Wednesday.

Ben Schrader got the start for the Golden Falcons (11-3, 7-3), going 4 ª innings, giving up four hits and striking out six batters. Gullotti went the rest of the way, giving up one hit and striking out six.

Nate Abbey went 2 for 4 with a double, Jacob Payne smacked an RBI double; Bobby Samuelson an RBI double; and Schrader added an RBI single.

Jeremy Wilcox got the start for Silver Creek (7-8, 5-6), but was quickly chased from the mound in favor of Andre Rosario, who went seven innings, finishing with six strikeouts and four walks. He gave up only three hits.

PIRATES PREVAIL

SHERMAN — Clymer/Sherman was a 7-3 winner over Westfield in CCAA Division 2 West play.

Lucas Willink fanned two in two innings, Garrett McClelland pitched his way through two innings, while Zavon Overton finished things off for the winners with three strikeouts and one walk for the winners (5-4, 3-4).

Trent Burchanowski had the go-ahead single in the bottom of the fourth inning to drive in a pair of runs, while Willink also finished with two RBIs and a double.

Matt See smacked a double in defeat, as did Dylan Scriven.

Derek Sears ripped a triple in the win.

BEARS BREEZE

PORTVILLE — Frewsburg erupted for or five runs with two outs in the second inning and plated eight runs in the sixth on its way to a 16-3 nonleague victory over Portville.

Jack Yost (four RBIs), Trayden Gray (double, two RBIs), Jason Dustin and Caleb Bender (RBI) all had two hits for the Bears (8-5, 6-2) in support of winning pitcher Aaron Hair. Ryan Schrecongost worked the final two innings.

Caleb Pierce and Ryan DeKay both had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run for the Panthers (3-4, 5-7).

CHAPMAN SHINES

FOR CARDS

RANDOLPH — Behind the pitching of Tommy Chapman, Randolph posted a 5-0 victory over Franklinville in a Division 2 East game.

Chapman allowed four hits, struck out five and walked one in six innings before being relieved by Ashton Bushey.

Jacob Bulich had three hits, including double, and drove in a run, and Josh Brown added two hits for the Cardinals (7-3, 6-2).
