Adams Delivers Another Gem, Bears Down Panthers, 10-1

PINE VALLEY — MaKena Adams turned in another dominant performance, tossing a two-hitter, striking out 15 and issuing a walk to spark Frewsburg to a 10-1 Division 2 East softball victory over Pine Valley on Wednesday.

The Bears (10-2, 6-0) led 3-0 after four innings, but broke the game open with two runs in the fifth and five in the sixth.

Elise Sposato, Ashley Carlson, Kiah Johnson (double) and Reagan Chitester all had two hits for Frewsburg. One of Carlson’s was a two-run single in the sixth inning.

Mallory Waag and Haley Campbell each had a double for the Lady Panthers.

FREDONIA ROLLS

SINCLAIRVILLE — Fredonia was a 12-1 winner over host Cassadaga Valley (0-11, 0-9) in CCAA Division 1 West action.

Marissa Cash fanned seven, walked one and gave up two hits in five innings in the circle before Kelly Lucas took over and earned a pair of strikeouts to finish things off for the Hillbillies.

Grace Mroczka was 4 for 4 with two doubles, Kazlin Beers 2 for 4 and Maggie Mignoli 2 for 4 in the win.

Brittyn LeBaron fanned eight and walked four, giving up 12 hits for Cassadaga Valley.

PANAMA DOWNS BROCTON

SHERMAN — Panama (7-2) was an 8-1 win over Brocton (6-3) in CCAA Division 2 West softball on Wednesday.

Ashlyn Harvey struck out 10 and issued no walks in the circle while Maci Johnson led the offense with a single, double, triple and four RBIs. Abi Lisciandro and Harvey each added two hits in the win.

On Monday, the Panthers were 12-2 winners on the road against Sherman. Harvey fanned 13 and walked one in a two-hit performance in the circle.

Leading the offense was Jessica Mistretta, who went 4 for 4 with three RBIs and four stolen bases. Lisciandro cracked two hits and stole four bases, while Johnson ripped a single and a double.

DRAGONS WIN AGAIN

BEMUS POINT — Maple Grove rolled past Sherman, 12-1, after belting out 15 hits in CCAA Division 2 West play.

Lynne Nordin threw the winners to victory with 10 strikeouts and no walks, while scattering eight hits.

Amaya Lewczyk threw a pair of innings to start the day for Sherman, before Rowan Fisher took over to finish things off. Erin Mansfield smacked three singles for the Red Dragons and Sammy Davis added two singles.

Abigail Ferreira ripped two singles and a double, Fisher a single and a double, and Kate Lindsey a double in the loss.

OLEAN PREVAILS

PORTVILLE — Olean improved to 10-5 overall and 7-0 in CCAA Division 1 East with a 4-2 win over Portville (8-5, 5-2).

Justine Brooks fanned four and issued no walks in the circle for the winners while Jojo Gibbons, Elyse Graham and Sophia Renaud each had two hits.

Miya Lasnik ripped a double in defeat while Brooke DYoe fanned four and walked seven.
