Jayhawks Suffer Twin Bill Sweep At Finger Lakes CC

CANANDAIGUA — Jamestown Community College (7-8) lost a pair of NJCAA Division III baseball games on Tuesday at the hands of Finger Lakes CC (27-15).

The Lakers were 12-2 winners in Game 1 thanks to a masterful performance on the mound by Tanner Cooper. Cooper fanned 12 batters and issued no walks to improve to 4-1 on the year.

Evan Harrison fanned two and walked three in four innings of work before Zach Kelley finished things off for the Jayhawks on the hill, walking three.

Nicklaus Stein, Omar Rosa and Cooper all smacked triples to lead the Lakers’ offense.

Finger Lakes CC followed that win with another splendid effort in Game 2, a 10-0 shutout.

Ben Mulhall earned the win for the Lakers, striking out three batters in a two-hit performance.

Aaron Shoemaker smacked a double, Stein a triple and Cooper a home run in the win as the Jayhawks were held off the scoreboard.

The Jayhawks host the Lakers for another doubleheader on Thursday.
