Hillbillies Sweep Panama To Stay Unbeaten

CHAUTAUQUA — Fredonia won all five matches in straight sets en route to a 5-0 sweep of Panama in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division tennis Tuesday at Chautauqua Institution.

Neil Gens, Dan Gifford and Jimmy Rush won at singles while Max Kinkela teamed up with Caleb Reynolds and Trevor Napoli teamed up with Neil Cosico for doubles victories for the Hillbillies (2-0, 2-0).

The Panthers fell to 3-2, 0-2.

DUNKIRK — Ryan Wills beat eighth-grader Coleson Barber, 6-4, 6-2 at first singles to highlight Dunkirk’s 5-0 sweep of Falconer in nonleague tennis Tuesday.

Dominic Begier won at third singles for the Marauders (1-1, 0-1 West Division), who also got victories from both of their doubles teams.

ALLEGANY — A pair of singles wins coupled with a doubles win sent Southwestern past Allegany-Limestone, 3-2, in East Division action Monday.

Eston Shedd and Brayden Haaksma won their singles matches while Ben Troche teamed up with Ethan Hatch for a doubles victory for the Trojans (1-0, 1-0).

JT Spako won at third singles while Shay Lippert and Kirsten Comstock won at second doubles for the Gators (0-1, 0-1).
