BOYS BASKETBALL Carson Crist Maple Grove Carson Crist averaged 27.5 points per game as Maple Grove split a pair of games last week. Crist scored 32 points to go along with 12 rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot in a win over Cassadaga Valley on Friday before scoring 23 points to go along with seven rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in a loss to Tapestry on Saturday.
GIRLS BASKETBALL Nadara Odell Dunkirk Nadara Odell averaged 19.75 points per game as Dunkirk opened its season with four wins last week. Odell had 11 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Nardin on Monday; 22 points and seven rebounds in a victory over Tapestry on Tuesday; 25 points and nine rebounds in a win over Westfield/Brocton on Friday; and 21 points and 17 rebounds in a victory over Randolph on Saturday.
WRESTLING Luke Tomlinson Maple Grove Luke Tomlinson went 5-0 with five pins at the Starpoint Spartan Duals on Saturday. Against Ken-Ton, Tomlinson pinned Daren Nice in 1:18; against Niagara Falls, he pinned Wilfredo Borges in 3:00; against Starpoint, he pinned Gavin Lyness in 1:05; against Williamsville South, he pinned Jaden Friel in 1:00; and Royalton-Hartland; he pinned Brandin Allen in 20 seconds. Tomlinson earned a 16-1 technical fall in 2:18 over Cattaraugus-Little Valley’s Aaliyah Small on Thursday.
BOYS SWIMMING Gannon Moore Frewsburg/Southwestern Gannon Moore won a pair of events and swam on two winning relays during Frewsburg/Southwestern’s win over Olean/Allegany-Limestone/Portville/Franklinville on Tuesday. Moore won the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.89) and 200-yard individual medley (2:22.29) while being a member of the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:55.95) and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:48.09).
BOYS BOWLING Jacob Patterson Fredonia Jacob Patterson opened his season with high games of 277 and 214 en route to a 670 series as Fredonia set a school record swith a pinfall of 3,154 in a victory over Chautauqua Lake on Monday. On Wednesday in a win over Falconer, Patterson chipped in a 226 game.
GIRLS BOWLING Beth Brown Falconer Beth Brown rolled a 180-245-215-640 in a win over Southwestern on Tuesday at Jamestown Bowling Company. On Wednesday in a win over Fredonia, Brown spilled a 203-185-522.
