Dragons’ Crossley, Kibbe Honored

SYRACUSE — The New York State Sportswriters Association announced its all-state girls soccer teams on Monday, and a pair of Maple Grove seniors — Clare Crossley and Chloe Kibbe — lead the way for the local honorees by being selected to the Class C Third Team.

The Red Dragons ended the season with a Section VI Championship and a 17-2-1 record as Crossley led the team with 27 goals and 10 assists while Kibbe finished with 14 goals and a team-high 14 assists.

Crossley was named the CCAA Central Division Player of the Year, while Kibbe earned First Team honors.

Also in Class C, Carley Williams and Bryne Milne of Portville have been selected to the Fourth Team.

The Panthers finished 2018 with a 14-5 record as Milne collected17 goals and four assists while Williams totaled 11 goals and eight assists.

In Class B, Molly McClelland of Allegany-Limestone has been selected to the First Team while teammate Alyssa Spring has been named to the Fourth Team.

The Gators finished the year at 18-2. McClelland put together a strong campaign of six goals and 27 assists and Spring amassed 33 goals and eight assists.

Calista Heister of Olean has been selected to the Fourth Team after helping the Huskies to a 17-3-1 season. As a senior, Heister scored 56 goals and dished out 13 assists.

In Class D, Emily Winter of North Collins has been selected to the Second Team after leading the Eagles with 10 goals in a 6-11-1 season. Franklinville’s Abby Burrell has been selected to the Third Team after helping the Panthers to a 9-8 season. Burrell stopped 205 shots and allowed just 26 goals while scoring two of her own.
