JCC Women Suffer First Loss

KIRTLAND, Ohio — Lakeland Community College outscored Jamestown CC, 42-23, in the middle two quarters en route to a 69-52 NJCAA nonconference win Wednesday evening.

Destiny Khay had a pair of 3-pointers in the second quarter before Calasia Cunningham scored 11 points in the third quarter as the Lakers opened up a 55-30 lead.

Cunningham finished with 17 points while Alicia Sephus had 12 points and 11 rebounds off the bench for Lakeland CC (4-0). Khay added 11 points and Ziona Williams had six assists in the win.

Olivia Lynn led the Jayhawks (6-1) with 11 points to go along with seven rebounds while Alexis Rodenbaugh had 9 points and nine rebounds. Jamestown CC shot just 34 percent from the field, including 3 of 8 from 3-point range.

The Jayhawks return to action with a nonconference game at 5 p.m. Monday at Pitt-Titusville.
