JAMESTOWN AREA LEAGUE

The Northside junior varsity traveled to Dunkirk and emerged with a 20-20 tie.

Leading the way were Angel Martinez with 103 yards rushing and two point-after attempts and Jvion Barr with 70 yards rushing and one touchdown. Chris Melquist scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak, and Apple Young added 68 yards rushing and one TD.

Defensively, Northside was led by TaVion Goodlow with nine tackles and an interception, and Zyiere Ferguson, Aamond Bowman, Nasir Holland and Izayaih Holland each recorded five tackles. Yandel Velasquez added key blocking.

In the varsity contest, Northside won, 19-8, with Donte James recording 95 yards rushing and two Td’s, and Mathis Baehr adding 60 yards receiving. Baehr also ran for 55 yards and recorded a TD and one point-after touchdown.

Defensively, Anthony Blakeslee recorded seven stops, with Jada Foreman, Dylan Gullo, Josiah Cruz, Xavier Foust, James, and Dante Vasquez offering strong defensive support.

The Westside Panthers junior varsity battled both the mud and the Fredonia Hillbillies to win, 28-0 for their sixth consecutive victory.

The defense was led by Cole Anderson with seven tackles followed by Cole Strickland who had five tackles. Defensive end Mosiah Ramos chipped in four stops while Zane Elfritz, Declan Errett, and Trace Eggleston each had three tackles.

The offense was piloted by Josh Piazza, who completed three passes for 20 yards and a pair of two-point conversions to Noah Gonzales and Gavin Johnson. He also rushed for 48 yards and three touchdowns. Declan Errett scampered 61 yards for a touchdown. Gavin Johnson rumbled for 61 yards on five carries.

The Westside varsity remained undefeated with a 25-6 victory over the Hillbillies.

The varsity defensive attack was led by Cole Bloomquist who called the signals and tallied eight tackles and a fumble recovery. Tommy Pratton also pounced on a fumble and had six tackles. Gavin Maggio, Tyrell Reese and Tyler Zwald also scooped up fumbles. Reese and Carsen Bane had four tackles apiece, and Marky Mescall added a sack to his two tackles.

The varsity offensive charge was led by Kameron Milne, Gavin Maggio, Leo Tehan, Tommy Pratton, Gavin Ford, Tyrell Reese, Yadiel Diaz, & Connor Buck. They paved they way for Zwald to race 80 yards for a touchdown, Bane to score on a 37-yard run, and Bloomquist to rumble for a 3-yard TD. Nate Sanchez added 27 yards rushing. Quarterback Mike Patric directed traffic and ran for three key first downs, tight end Cody Delcamp blocked well and caught a pass from Dominic Gonzales. Fullback Owen Slojkowski charged into the end zone for a one-point conversion. Aiden Samuelson led all runners with 89 yards on seven carries, including one for a 15-yard touchdown.

The modified Panther team lost, 20-7.

The lone offensive touchdown was scored by Eric Reese on a 31 yard sprint to the end zone. Jaymin Harrington scrambled for the one-point conversion. Isaiah Sanchez ran hard as well.

The defense saw Kedvin Vasquez tally eight tackles while Reese added seven stops. Hunter Meabon had five tackles as did John Torres and Nate Jacobs. Aidan Senear, JC Lupold and Jack Lundberg each had four tackles. Brandon Lobb recovered a fumble to help spark the scoring drive.
