Cassadaga Valley Wins In Four Sets

FORESTVILLE — Cassadaga Valley traveled to Forestville and beat the Hornets, 23-25, 25-22, 25-10, 25-10, in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association North Division volleyball action Friday.

The Cougars were led by Katrinah Bretl with 11 kills, four aces and five digs; Heidi Williams with seven kills and eight aces; Brooke Repine with four kills, four aces and five digs; and Kaitlyn Dahl with 23 assists.

Forestville saw notable performances by Sylvia Cleary with three kills and four digs, and Rhianna Masal with 17 assists and two kills.

Cassadaga Valley improved to 11-5 overall and 9-3 in the league while Forestville fell to 4-12 overall and 4-8 in league play.

RED DRAGONS SWEEP

Maddie Welsh had nine kills and three blocks while Bre Hill added seven kills, four aces and seven digs as Maple Grove swept non-league Allegany-Limestone, 25-16, 25-16, 25-14.

Alyssa Steen had 20 assists and two blocks while Madigan Howard chipped in eight digs for the Red Dragons (15-2, 10-2 CCAA Central).

Cameron Riordan had 12 assists and three blocks for the Gators.

Allegany-Limestone won the JV match.

PORTVILLE STAYS UNDEFEATED

SALAMANCA — Shayla Wilhelm had seven aces to lead Portville to a 25-6, 25-9, 25-6 sweep of Salamanca in East Division play.

Laura Wilhelm added five kills and a block; Kylie Blessing had five aces, two kills and 28 assists; and Ericka Carlson chipped in eight aces for the Panthers (15-0, 12-0).

Kylee Dowdy led the Warriors (1-14, 0-10) with four blocks and two kills.

Portville also won the JV match, 25-19, 25-9, 25-11.
