Trojans Spread Out Scoring
Five different goal scorers helped Southwestern get past Chautauqua Lake, 5-1, in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division girls soccer Saturday.
Emily Kimball scored from Kylie Brown, Melissa DeVore scored on a penalty kick, Brown tallied from DeVore, Allison Lundmark converted a Mia DeLong pass and Melissa Todd scored from Sydney Wendel all in the first half for the Trojans (6-3, 4-2).
After the break, the Thunderbirds (1-6, 1-5) broke up the shutout when Emily Phelps scored from Calla Zarpentine.
Hanna Johnson made five saves for Southwestern while Chadelynn Johnson made 16 saves for Chautauqua Lake.
WINTER SCORES WINNER
NORTH COLLINS — Emily Winter scored from Maddie Turnbull in the 17th minute of the first half as North Collins blanked Cassadaga Valley, 1-0, in Central Division play.
Myah Gabel made six saves in the shutout for the Eagles (2-4-0, 1-4-0) while Isabella Ruiz made 23 saves for the Cougars (1-6-0, 1-5-0).
