Rebels Suffer 5-1 Loss At NAHL Showcase, Fall To 1-1

BLAINE, Minn. — The Jamestown Rebels dropped to 1-1 on the year following a 5-1 loss to the Minot Minotauros at the North American Hockey League Showcase on Thursday.

Jamestown began the season with a 3-2 victory over Chippewa on Wednesday.

The Rebels broke out to a 1-0 lead in the opening period when John Serafin found the back of the net on the power play off a pass by Alex Frye.

Minot responded in a big way in the second period, firing home back-to-back goals in a 10-second stretch while adding one more at 10:24 off the stick of David Raisanen and another in the closing minutes from Taylor Lantz on the power play.

The Minotauros would convert two of five chances with the man advantage while Ben Garrity stopped 37 shots in the win.

Noah West took the loss in net for Jamestown, stopping 23 shots.

Jamestown will return to the ice today for a 10 a.m. meeting with the Amarillo Bulls.
