Lady Red Raiders Post 1st ECIC Volleyball Win

Jamestown posted its first Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 volleyball match of the season Thursday, downing West Seneca West, 25-12, 25-19, 25-23.

Morgan Tracy led the way with seven kills and four aces; Izzy Knapp had three aces; and Giovanna Calamunci collected six kills.

The Lady Red Raiders are now 3-4 overall and 1-4 in the division.

PANAMA IMPROVES TO 9-0

Panama improved to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in league play with a 25-21, 25-18, 25-18 win over Falconer (3-6, 3-3) on Thursday.

The Lady Panthers were led by Natalie Angeletti with 10 kills, three blocks, eight digs and four points; Madalyn Bowen had 10 kills, nine digs and three points; Maddie Johnson added two kills, 24 assists, three digs and one ace; and Alexys Marsh chipped in six kills, six digs, 10 points and one ace.

For Falconer Grace Camarata had six kills, seven digs and 11 points; Serena Camarata had three kills and eight digs; Jordyn Sampson collected 11 digs; and Bekah Morales had one block.

LADY TROJANS WIN

Southwestern defeated Sherman, 25-18, 25-21, 25-14.

For Southwestern Angela Lunz had eight aces, one kill, 18 assists, and five digs; Abbey Manelick had five aces, 12 kills, and six digs; Katie Brinkley had 10 digs; and Maddie Brooks and Anna Rauh both had four kills apiece.

For Sherman, Maggie Myers had three kills, six assists, two digs and four aces; Teddi Hayes had two kills, three assists, two digs and one ace; Amaya Lewczyk had two kills, two assists, six digs, and four aces;and Rowan Fisher added three kills and two digs.

T’BIRDS PREVAIL

CLYMER — Chautauqua Lake was a 25-15, 25-15, 25-12 winner over Clymer, thanks to five aces, 14 kills, one block and two digs by Olivia Anderson.

The Thunderbird also had three aces, three kills, eight digs and nine assist by Abbie Henry; Mollie Meadows added three aces, two kills and 11 assists; Lily Woodis had five aces, one kill, six digs and six assists; and Bryanna Davis had one ace and three kills.

Clymer was led by eight digs and one kill from Hannah King; four digs, two kills and one ace by Kate Honey; and four digs with one ace by Ashley Covey.

DRAGONS VICTORIOUS

PINE VALLEY — Maple Grove improved to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in league play with a 25-5, 25-14, 25-12 win over Pine Valley (2-7, 0-5).

Bre Hill had 15 kills with two aces, Alyssa Steen had 26 assists while Maddie Welsh and Courtney Hemminger each had nine kills for the winners.

Morgan Sandy had 10 digs and one kill while Sadie Fadale had four digs and two kills in the loss.
