JCC Volleyball Team Loses At Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, Pa. — The Jamestown Community College volleyball team had something unusual happen Tuesday night.

It lost a match.

After finishing the 2017-18 season losing only in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament, the Jayhawks bowed to Pitt-Bradford, 25-20, 25-21, 25-23, last night in a non-conference match.

The loss dropped Jamestown CC to 9-1 on the season heading into Saturday’s POD Tournament at Erie CC.

Sierra Wells had 25 assists and 12 digs to lead the Jayhawks. Kendyl Austin added eight kills, eight digs, one block and two aces; Jenna Caskey chipped in seven kills, 14 digs, two blocks and one ace; and Kaylin Brumagin collected eight kills, three digs and one ace.

“We had a lot of hitting errors tonight,” Jamestown CC assistant coach Lauren Beichner said.

The Jayhawks defeated Pitt-Bradford last year in five games, but lost to them in a preseason scrimmage this year.

“We just made a lot of funky errors,” Beichner said. “I don’t know what was up tonight.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
