Fredonia Wins Fifth Straight Tennis Match

FREWSBURG — Fredonia (5-0, 2-0) was a 4-1 winner over Frewsburg (2-5, 2-2) in non-league Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association action on Thursday.

Bernie Gens took first singles and Alicia Kluck claimed second in a match that featured 10-game pro-sets.

DRAGONS STILL PERFECT

DUNKIRK — Maple Grove (6-0, 4-0) remained unbeaten in the West Division with a 4-1 win over Dunkirk (3-2, 2-2).

The Red Dragons swept all three singles matches in succession with Elise Swanson, Jenna Hayes and Emma Collins earning wins.

At second doubles Sage Cresanti and Brianna Karges earned a three-set victory.

FALCONER TRIMS SWCS

FALCONER — Falconer (6-2, 3-1) picked up a 3-2 non-league win over Southwestern (2-6, 1-3).

All three singles matches took three sets. Hiba Munir taking first singles for Southwestern while teammate Isabelle Meyers grabbed third singles. Nicole Youngberg claimed second singles for the Lady Golden Falcons. Falconer also won both singles matches.

GOLDEN FALCONS FALL

OLEAN — Olean (6-1, 4-0) was a 3-2 winner over Falconer (5-2, 3-1) in East Division action Wednesday.

Macy Youngberg took first singles for Falconer, responding to a first-set loss for a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 win over Mackenzi Windus.

At third singles, Caroline DeRose won a key match for the Huskies with a three-set defeat of Lauren Allen.
